Yeah, yeah, because obviously, you know when not to be no, I'm not small-minded, but you know, when you're so used to performing in London and like Europe, you don't really like I don't really think outside the box, but obviously the music's pushed me to I've seen like the reception, so you you it seemed like you actually are focused on what you're doing.

To be honest, like the type of music that I listen to is literally 90. It's RB. It's always like, it's not even one idea. Like when I listened to I'm listening to Cut Clothes and them type of groups, yeah. But really, when COVID hit, I was before COVID hit, I was just I was literally doing the singing at R B strictly. It wasn't any dance or nothing. COVID hit and boredom hit me too. So I was just in my room bored, boredom, my 30s, it was peak. In my room bored, didn't know what to do, but at the same time, I was doing like mashups. So like I was mixing like Dexter Dap mash-ups over instrumentals and stuff, and then obviously that just started blowing and it kind of just made sense in the moment.

Like it wasn't supposed to be a very country, the Dexter Daban was kind of fire, though.

Literally, from that that mashup, I just wanted to experiment more. So I would say, like, in that time it was Dexter. I was listening to Dexter a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot. Because he's he's somebody in the in the in the culture that sings, but is foul with it, yeah.

No, so basically it's so weird. It's like, you see, Jamaica's big but it's small. Do you know what I mean? So it was like I had the song Funds, and no, basically Fonz was it was um I went with Dre Sko, so I did the it was the first time I came here in the States. It was like how many years ago? How many years ago? I don't know. Five years ago. I don't know. But anyway, sometime I came here and Dre Sko was here, and we just literally done back-to-back sessions for like five days straight. So we made like seven songs, and then me I'm kind of well, now I'm a perfectionist but before I would have thought all them songs are good, now we're not listening to that. So it's like funds, and there was another song, and then he was just like, We need a feature for funds, we need a feature for funds. And the only person that I swear that came to my head was Skilly. So when I said Skilly, he was like, Yeah, but then he said somebody else. I can't remember what he said, but I don't think I was feeling that. So then I just I think I shouted to Skilly, I was just like, Oh yeah, like I'm from the UK, I got one song, I think it was sound sick on it. And then he was just like, I sent it to me. I sent it to him, and then like two weeks later, he sent me back the verse. No way, just like I swear to you, he sent me back the verse, then he was like, Yeah, come to Jamaica.

I said, Come on, in it, yeah, you were lucky, literally, like because you sending him that song at that time, his songs was hot going off. Going off. So for him to answer you, yeah, going off. Any like, you know, where it was like, okay, yeah, he's building that man's songs was hot.

Yeah, he was gone. He was literally gone. So when we done that, I literally flew to Jamaica like three weeks later. Got like a team, shot a video, he came to the video, yeah, bought out the bikes, bought out one bag of man. It was crazy, crazy, crazy, and literally like he just was just showing me the rounds and everything. Like a little sister, he's like my big brother. Yeah, so now he's just like he plays big brother. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Basically, I don't know. I think Stone shouted me, but I think we kind of had like a relationship before, like, on we just used to like he used to like my stuff. I used to like his stuff, I used to report each other.

Like we just used to interact with each other a lot. And then he was in London, he was in London, and I was shooting, so there was uh Amazon Prime uh movie that adapted called Jungle, and his producers were the uh producers of the that showed afterward and that show as well. So we done that and then his his producer was just like, Oh my god I got a session store. He was like, Yeah, pull up. So let me pull up. He was just like Amma. He just kept saying Amma, Amma, Amma. He's forgetting the real. That is your name, that is what I'm calling you for the rest of the day. Amma. She's like, Oh my, that's your name. He was like, Oh, I got a song. I think we'll go crazy on it. Recorded a song, and he was just like, Yeah, now any time we're gonna be fine, but we didn't drop it for a time. So we had that song, let's say we made that song like 2022, and then we dropped that like 2020 because he wanted to drop it with his album.

Yeah, I feel like the UK, it's so sad to say, but the UK they don't clock on until you guys clock on. So, like, there's like take for instance, like Odil. They wasn't, they weren't the UK wasn't putting Odil on. As soon as he came over here and he flew, the UK wanted to put him back and they couldn't. So they don't clock on, like they wait until you leave. Like Papa somewhere else, and then oh no, she's from here, she's from here, they want to gatekeep you. That's what they do. The UK is just a big gatekeeper.

Like radio, you won't have you have American music more than you have UK, UK music, and it doesn't make no sense in the UK in the UK you have more American music than you have British music.

No, not even because like there's only a fair share of people in the UK that listen to like not a fair share, there's a lot of people that listen to there's a lot of people that listen to all kinds of music in the UK, but there's uh like let's say like I'm from East London, so East London and South London, when they have like proper uh UK artists that's from their their hood, like from East London, say from Hutney, they won't want to hear you on radio. Like they wanna hear, they wanna they wanna hear more UK people than um American people on the radio. But I just feel like it should anyway because we're from here. We should like wanna like they only do it like when I was saying about the dance wall, they only play danceful after certain hours. Like they won't have danceful running through the day. Or do you get like a a commercial dance roll like Murder Shiro or something?

One thing I will say about the UK though, uh, I had gone like some years ago, I had gone and I went to um at this time, I feel like it was probably like five, six years ago. I feel like they were really good at you had like a couple of people, a couple of female artists that were doing really, really well there. And I feel like female artists weren't as popular at that time as they were right now, like in the US, like right now, female artists are hot, like Lotto, Megan, all of that. But in the UK, I do feel like the female artists there were, you know, they were popping. They were like taking seriously. You had like a good amount of people. There was like Steph London, there was um Miss, I'm blanking on her name now. You probably know who I'm talking about. I'm gonna I'll tell you her name. But there were a lot of female artists that were doing well. How do you feel about like the state of female rap or artists, you know, in the world?

I feel like I feel like in the UK, the female artists, there's not, you know what, to be fair, there is a lot. Yeah, but they don't get the recognition. And I don't know why that is, because some females can some female artists in the UK blow up every single day on an app. So like the numbers and everything's there, but again, like they don't get the time of day. I don't know, radio play, I don't know, festivals, like they just won't get put on. I feel like is what they're used to. Whatever you're familiar with over there is what they're gonna bring back. Like it's quite repetitive over there. They don't wanna they don't wanna bust you until you're bust somewhere else. Why for the busting? But you know what my say you know my say but yeah, like until you're you're popping elsewhere. I don't know, they won't look into you. I don't know why that is, especially for females as well, because there's a lot of but there's a lot of male artists over in the UK as well. So you have to think, and is is annoying to say, but males get the more most attention, do you get it? So it's like you is hit and miss.

Yeah. So how do you feel about because especially, you know, you I feel like do you think that they're receptive to different types of female artists? Because you know that there's usually like a stereotype of females, they have to look a certain way, they gotta be singing about certain things. They have to, you know what I'm saying? Very like vulgar sometimes is the only way they're accepted. And I love your image because you're sort of the opposite of that. You know what I mean? No, no, no. You know what I'm saying? Do you do you think do you think that they are like how have you been navigating that, you know, as somebody, you know, who um is a female artist but not necessarily looking like that stereotypical look? And are they, you think the industry is receptive to that? Because it's like we haven't had that in the US since probably like Lauren Hill. You know what I'm saying? In terms of somebody who doesn't dress like that and who is, you know, popular.

I think it's like it's a barrier. There's a barrier with the states in the UK because like in the states, it's okay to do it. Like it's okay to dress with the RCA titties out and doing what you want to do. But in the UK, you'll get looked at sideways. Even dress like that? You'll get looked at sideways because there will always it will always the UK's bad vibes, like there'll always be a comparison, like, oh, she's trying to be like this person, she's trying to be American and she's she's not rapping in an English accent, she wants to be American so bad. Like, there's always nobody ever branches like that that way because of the stigma behind it, about how much they're gonna get, like the backlash they're gonna get behind it. Over over in the States, you can do it in free, like because yeah, pop your clock, the T or whatever them say, like you know I'm saying that it's fine to do so, but in the UK, in the UK, you can nah man, you have to keep reaching odd, you know, or even like a clean girl aesthetic that that works. That that's like the most that works when it comes to like RSG. Like your tits and that is not really out, but you look good, you look clean, like you know, the gesture. I don't know, the clean girl aesthetics, whatever that aesthetic is, yeah, that will work in the UK, but yeah, I don't know, like people in the UK are haters. They're just haters. So if someone was good enough and literally you would apply your your US password.
